Watercolours, G nib & ink, on generic heavy-ish sketchbook paper 7x9 1/2 in.
For some reason the irresistible whimsy came over me that I just had to do a picture of some of the characters from past comics projects (two of these guys are lurking in my gallery currently) as little children, on a boat, headed for adventure. Yeah, "what the hell Erin?," but I like it. It looks like an illustration from a really trippy storybook. From left-to-right (because you care): Saena the Simurgh's daughter, Jocasta the Sphinx, Kenta the Gyuki-Troll hybrid thing, Samir the heavily transfigured Manticore, Cecile the human, and Aubrey the world's worst Werewolf, now with a thermos of hot cocoa and lasting mental trauma. In real life, the waves are more intensely coloured and the background is a bit more desaturated. Oh, scanners. |
