Self-Portrait While Drawing

My first project for IB Art Studio in my senior year. A Self-portrait in ink (applied with a G nib) and watercolours on this huge piece of nice watercolour-paper.

I created this by propping up a large mirror between my desk (which is an ancient wood drafting table) and the wall (it was slightly tilted--can you tell?), then arranging myself and my things and drawing away. So that's me and my room and my tea and whathaveyou. This was drawn 100% from life, which made doing my moving right arm really hard. It took me two days (I had to change back into my old clothes on the 2nd!).

I'm proud of how this turned out. I think it has a strong likeness, which is something I really pushed for in my prelim RWB work.

Also this was somewhat inspired by Artemisia Gentileschi's Self-Portrait as the Allegory of Painting.

This photo is pretty terrible I'll be getting a better one (from shooting my portfolio) soon.
